Equiforce drives equitable workforce development in Newfoundland and Labrador. Through industry-responsive initiatives and data-driven innovation, we help shape a labour market where participation is maximized and economic potential is equitably realized.
Mission
Building a robust and equitable workforce to unlock Newfoundland and Labrador’s full potential.
A strategic partner to industry, government, and workers, Equiforce fosters collaboration and delivers programming for a future focused workforce that includes pathways for women and underrepresented groups.
Vision
A fully-engaged, skilled workforce that reflects the full diversity of Newfoundland and Labrador and delivers a strong economic future for all.
What We Do
Equiforce focuses on the full spectrum of workforce development. We prepare a diverse workforce for in-demand and emerging industries, and we support employers in creating environments where that diversity can thrive.
Employer Services
We support employers in building stronger, more effective workforces through evidence-based strategies and practical support. Our services include workforce assessment, research and evaluation, training and facilitation, and customized consulting solutions that strengthen workforce performance and organizational capacity. We measure what matters and turn insights into action.
Youth Programs
We introduce girls and underrepresented youth to high-growth fields in science, engineering, trades, and technology. Through hands-on exploration and our flagship STEMforGIRLS programming, they gain the confidence, experiences, and connections needed to imagine themselves in these exciting careers.
Career Programs
We accelerate entry into high-growth sectors through initiatives like FastTrackHER and Pathways to Place, and other targeted workforce initiatives. By combining targeted training, work-integrated learning, mentorship, and direct employer collaboration, participants transition into roles where their skills are needed most.
Our Story
Founded in 1997 as the Women in Resource Development Corporation (WRDC), we have spent over 25 years advancing gender inclusion in trades, technology, and other high-growth sectors. Today, as Equiforce, we apply that expertise to the full breadth of workforce development, helping align workforce participation with industry needs.
Our Team
Equiforce is powered by a multidisciplinary team working across Newfoundland and Labrador. From program design and delivery to evaluation and advisory services, our staff bring deep expertise and shared commitment to building a stronger workforce.
